2025 GMC Acadia vs. The Competition

If you want a luxurious SUV that checks all the right boxes, the GMC Acadia is worth a good look. Compared to popular models like the Ford Explorer or Toyota Highlander, the Acadia has more to offer regarding style, comfort, cargo space, and advanced technology. Explore our new Acadia inventory today at Cobleskill Chevrolet GMC.

Performance

Performance

The GMC Acadia offers the most powerful base engine. The 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder makes 328 horsepower and can handle towing up to 5,000 pounds. The included Trailering package includes a Class III hitch, heavy-duty cooling, a hitch-view camera system, and a seven-pin wiring harness. The Explorer also offers a Class III hitch and towing up to 5,000 pounds, but neither the Explorer nor Highlander has all the features that are part of the Acadia's Class III hitch.

Technology

Technology

The technology in the GMC Acadia is impressive, featuring a massive 15.0-inch infotainment system. It's vertically oriented like a tablet and looks much bigger than the Explorer's 13.2-inch screen or the Highlander's standard 8.0-inch screen. The Acadia also offers extras like a wireless charging pad, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, and voice activation with Google built-in software.

Interior & Exterior

The biggest difference between the Acadia, Explorer, and Highlander is that the Acadia has a more premium look and feel. The interior and exterior design is more upscale and comfortable, with more luxurious features and more cargo space than the competitors.

Available Trim Levels

The GMC Acadia is offered in three well-equipped trim levels. The trim level selection is more streamlined than the Ford Explorer and Toyota Highlander's five trim levels, but the Acadia has more advanced standard features and premium finishes.

  • Elevation: the base trim
  • Denali: the luxury trim
  • AT4: the offroad trim
